Ways to Build Self-Confidence – Part 1

1. Visualize yourself as you want to be.

Visualize your very best life. Better yet, visualize yourself achieving your greatness. What you look like. What you are wearing. The conversations you are having. The people you know and interact with. Your accomplishments. Keep that picture in your mind and meditate on it 2-3 times a day. This practice will implant what you want into your subconscious. Thereby mentally preparing yourself to achieve it. The more you do this, the more the subconscious will create ideas and behaviors that will help you make that visualization a reality.

2. Affirm yourself.

We tend to behave in accordance with our own self-image. We tend to believe whatever we tell ourselves constantly. The trick to making lasting change is to change how you view yourself. If you speak negatively about yourself, then you will believe you are unworthy and that what you want is out of reach. As a result, you will procrastinate, create excuses and self-sabotage yourself. To overcome this, you have to mentally affirm yourself in order to change the way you think of yourself. This step is somewhat similar to the first step. But with this step you are doing a little bit more than visualizing, you are “saying” positive things about yourself OUT LOUD repeatedly. Also, to push this a step further, just don’t say general statements. Like, “I am worthy.” Create questions instead that forces you to provide specific examples that feeds your subconscious on why you are worthy. “Why am I worthy?” Because I am the child of God. This will expedite the process of believing yourself.

3. Do one thing that scares you every day.

The best way to overcome fear is to take action and to face it head-on. By doing something that scares you every day and gaining confidence from every experience, you will see your self-confidence soar. There is nothing more exhilirating than doing something in spite of being scared.

4. Question your inner critic.

“Oh your so stupid” “Oh your so ugly” “I can’t believe you did that” …Some of the harshest comments and perceptions that we have about ourselves, we create in our minds ourselves because we THINK someone else THINKS something about us. The “voice of the inner critic.” If you struggle with low self-confidence, there is a possibility that your inner critic has become overactive and inaccurate. This goes to the bible verse, “Lean not on your own understanding. ” The bible tells us to LEAN NOT ON OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING because it may be wrong. Find opportunities to congratulate, compliment and reward yourself, even for the smallest successes. Instead of being your own biggest critic, learn to be your biggest fan.

5. Help someone else.

Helping someone helps us to forget about ourselves and to feel grateful for what we have. It also feels good when you are able to make a difference for someone else. Instead of focusing on your own weaknesses, try to focus your attention on helping someone.

Congrats first off on all your success. Walking into your Authenticity is scary at first; because you don’t know how you are gonna be perceived. As I’ve gotten older things have uncovered about who I really am. I never really felt inferior to anyone be I understand that life is just a series of choices in theory and of those choices your will reap the benefits of suffer the consequences. To answer your question I believe that humans are suppose to be alone we need the fellowship and the companionship weather it’s personal or business so we do what me must to fit in to show we are down. At the same time we are fitting in our thoughts, emotions and personalities become tainted with the stench of camaraderie the throws into a kind of auto pilot mode for our bodies.
